It all starts somewhere. The first L/R fic written, the one that spawned a hundred imitations and created a fandom. Recently finished, Misty refuses to give into fanon and creates it all on her own. Plot twists, an irresistable villain, and an inescapable destiny all entwine around Rogue. For anyone who loves movieverse fic, this one is a classic. For L/R fans, it's DEFINITELY required reading.

I don't think I've read a fic that made me understand Rogue so well. Andariel said she based it on a Rogue I wrote--but I could NEVER have written a Rogue this good, this angst, this sympathetic, or this strong. It's a beautiful moment of true reality and connection between Scott and a rebellious Rogue, and I can't possibly do it justice with a few lines of praise. Just read it.

It's chilling, it's ruthless, and it's an A/U you can believe. A wonderful rewrite of the events from Laughlin on, with a Rogue that approaches comic-canon and a richly detailed and very dark world where a very different Logan meets her. With an ending that you'll be debating for a LONG time.

It's dark, it's sad, and there isn't much in the way of hope. Natalie's dreamy prose and the contrast of harsh reality and unformed memories recreate the classic Logan meets Rogue scenario. It's beautiful, and it hurts.

I am PERKY when I run across a story I loved on a webpage that I completely forgot about. Everything she writes is beautiful, but this was the first I read by her and it struck me the hardest. Gorgeous, liquid prose, a beautiful, off-center Rogue, and a musing on Logan's nature. Incredible A/U fun! A cross between an Elseworlds and a true A/U, Beth breaks stereotypes and rewrites cliches with a twist to create a hysterical and truly wonderful what if--the X-Men as porn stars? Rogue a fluffer? Handjobs during Star Trek? Big Bald Head productions? The perfect balance of true drama, humor, and Beth's own wonderful ability to bring to life an idea that she makes WORK. I had the priviledge of betaing this baby and let me tell you, it's worth a dozen read-throughs.
